The boundary lines for Pike Township which was originally part of Clark Township were established in 1823.

New Harmony located in the Northwestern part of the Township was founded in 1847 by EB Whorton

Locas Ridge is a small hamlet located in the Southwestern area of the Township. The first buildings  in this area were thought to have been built in 1835
